I got my conch pierced yesterday. He used a hoop and I guess that's what he always uses. After browsing the group I see it's not recommended. I'm not having any swelling or anything and he told me to come back in 3-6 weeks to get smaller jewelry. If I'm not having any issues should I just leave it be until I downsize? I really don't want to mess with it and cause more issues so if leaving it will be ok I'd like to just keep it for now

Mine did great. Pierced with a hoop about 3 months ago. People do get very feisty about it.
I did change it to a stud at 5 weeks because I had a hair appointment and my hairdresser is one who will forget and rip rings out of your head

@developeraccess  I think im just going to leave it until/if it causes problems and downsize in about 3 month's. This piercing was rough for me so if I can get away with it for 3 months I'm going to lol

@spsahannilanga I think you’ll be fine. Just keep avoiding hitting and sleeping on it (as with all new piercings).

Personally , I would go somewhere else and have that changed out as hoops can move too much and cause bumps. I had my conch pierced, not with a hoop, and I was told at least 2 months until downsizing

I would never recommend going back to that “piercer”. I used quotes because no reputable piercer would pierce a conch with a hoop, and they definitely would never allow their clients to bring their own jewelry for any piercing under a year old. So many red flags there…
